Giansalvo Cannizzo

I'm a Sicilian photographer. I'm drawn to things nobody usually looks at twice: a small gesture, an object out of place, a situation slightly off, a detail that asks for no attention and gets it anyway.

I don't have a fixed genre: I move between reportage, collage and experimentation, looking — more than for meaning — for a shape for whatever comes in front of me.

I photograph out of curiosity, out of stubbornness, and often for no real reason at all.

Over the years I've exhibited and taught photography courses and workshops, and I'm happy to keep doing it: sharing different ways of looking interests me as much as looking itself.

In 2025 I exhibited Oups, Tant Pis! at Galleria Drips in Vittoria: four display cases of photographic collages, each with its own playlist. I teach photography in workshops and school projects.
